This is the health and safety orientation training requirement for those interested in participating in the Michigan Department of Education-Office of Great Start's Child Development and Care (CDC subsidy program). This training will be offered ONLINE during a LIVE presentation during the COVID-19 Crisis. Participants will need to join for the entire offering. They also must complete a post-training survey to receive credit for the course.
This training covers the following topics:
• Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (including immunizations)
• Administration of Medication
• Prevention of and Response to Emergencies Due to Food and Allergic Reactions
• Building and Physical Premises Safety, Including Identification of and Protection from Hazards that Can Cause Bodily Injury
• Prevention of Shaken Baby Syndrome, Abusive Head Trauma, and Child Maltreatment
• Emergency Preparedness and Response Planning for Emergencies
• Handling and Storage of Hazardous Materials and the Appropriate Disposal of Bio-contaminants
• Precautions in Transporting Children
• Recognition and Reporting of child abuse and neglect
• Prevention of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and Use of Safe Sleep Practices
• Pediatric CPR and First Aid
• Child Development
