My name is Kim Baxter. I owned and operated Honeybee Childcare LLC, for 30 years before retiring in May 2021. During my history as a child care provider I always strived to run my business professionally and to be treated as a professional, not a babysitter. I was sponsored by Ford Motor Company for 13 years, achieved national accreditation, and maintained a 5 star rating from 2012- 2021, when I retired. I have experience working with mixed ages of children, teaching preschool, and working with school age children. The first fifteen years of my business, I was located in the city of Troy, in Oakland county. I started as a family childcare and expanded to a group childcare. The second half of my career, I moved to the country and went back to family childcare. I offered more outdoor experiences, with opportunities for the children to garden and grow what we eat. From 2014- 2018, Honeybee was a lab home for Monroe Community College's Early Childhood students.
